Anna Paquin has been a New Zealand-Canadian movie, theater, and TV actress for more than 20 years. It was not her intention to pursue a career in acting however, fate decided she should. She turned down many opportunities after the success of her first movie in order to pursue her studies. At age 14 her return to the film industry by taking on roles in the films 'Jane Eyre' as well as 'Fly Away Home. Then, in 2000, she played the powerful mutant 'Rogue as portrayed in 'X-Men one of the earliest entries in the film series 'X-Men and made her famous worldwide. She continued to play 'Rogue,' as well as re-enacting the character in other sequels like X2 as well as X-Men: The Last Stand. In addition, she has appeared on small screens for a variety of roles, including Elaine Goodale, in a film called 'Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. In this role she was nominated for her first Emmy nomination. Within a couple of months, she began receiving requests to be cast in various television shows. Her first appearance was in the show 'True Blood' and "Flack.
